Day 1: Arrival/ Christchurch (D)

Arrive in Christchurch. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Christchurch including the Hagley Park, Avon River and the Cathedral Square etc., before being transferred to Christchurch Hotel.

Day 2: Christchurch / Dunedin (BD)

Today after breakfast we drive you through the east coast for Dunedin. This afternoon we will take you around in Dunedin city, a visit to the historic Olveston House, the Railway Station, etc. This evening a traditional Haggis Ceremony will be hold before your dinner.

Day 3: Dunedin /Te Anau (BD)

This morning you will enjoy a morning tea and a tour at Larnach Castle – the unique Castle in New Zealand. Leaving Dunedin for Te Anau this afternoon.

Day 4: Te Anau/ Milford Sound / Queenstown (BD)

Follow the Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys, pass through the Homer Tunnel to reach the majestic Milford Sound. Enjoy a scenic cruise before we drive you back and then to Queenstown. Dinner at the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant in Walter Peak Farm, a return scenic TSS Earnslaw cruise from Queenstown.

Day 5: Queenstown at Leisure (B)

A day to explore the delights of this alpine resort at leisure.

 

Day 6: Queenstown/Franz Joseph (BD)

Pass Lake Wanaka to Makarora into Mt Aspiring and Westland National Parks. Drive north along the coast to the glacier region. Explore the township or take the optional guided walk to the glacier terminal face.

Day 7: Franz Joseph/ Arthur’s Pass / TranzAlpine / Christchurch (BD)

We drive you to Arthur’s Pass where you will start the one of the greatest rail journeys in the world, the TranzAlpine. Journey through the mighty Southern Alps and across the gentle Canterbury farmland into Christchurch.

Day 8: Christchurch / Picton / Wellington (BD)

Drive to Picton, nestled on the shores of the Marlborough Sounds, to board the interislander ferry. Sail through though Queen Charlotte Sound, across Cook Strait and into Wellington Harbour. Explore the city at the rest of the day.
Accommodation: Mercure Hotel or similar.

 

Day 9: Wellington / Rotorua (BD)

Complete a Wellington city tour and across the farmland to the central North Island National Park, dominated by the volcanic cone of Mt Ruapehu. Follow the desert road to Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake, stop at Huka Falls before reach Rotorua, centre of Maori culture. Enjoy a traditional Hangi feast with Maori songs and performance.

Day 10: Rotorua (B)

A sightseeing tour visits the Agrodome for a show featuring New Zealand’s various sheep breeds with a shearing demonstration. Visit Te Puia, the Maori Arts and Crafts Centre and Thermal Reserve, with boiling mud, Pohutu Geyser and Kiwi bird.

 

Day 11: Rotorua / Auckland (BD)

Cross the Mamaku Ranges to the Waitkato region, at Waitomo Caves, a guide will escort your group underground to the limestone caverns and glow-worm grotto. After the visit, we drive you alongside the Waikato River to reach New Zealand’s largest city-Auckland.

Day 12: Auckland / Home (B)

We will complete a city sightseeing tour in Auckland including Mt Eden, American Cup’s Village, Mission Bay, and Parnel Vallage. After lunch we transfer you to Auckland airport for your onward international flight.
