Day 1: Arrival – Auckland (D)

Meet the group at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Auckland sightseeing afterwards.
Stay in 4 star Spencer on Bryon Hotel or similar.

 

Day 2: Auckland – Waitomo – Rotorua (B, L, D)

This morning we follow the Waikato River, New Zealand’s longest river, en route to Waitomo Caves the famous subterranean limestone caves and glide silently by boat through the renowned Glow-worm Grotto. BBQ Lunch at the Big Apple Restaurant. This afternoon we travel to Rotorua, a brief sightseeing there including the lakefront, government’s garden, and also a visit to Paradise Valley, where you will see trout and wildlife sanctuary set amidst native trees and ferns. Enjoy a gondola ride and then the buffet dinner at the Skyline Restaurant.
Stay in 4 star Park Heritage Hotel or similar.

 

Day 3: Rotorua – Auckland (B,L,D)

Sightseeing at Rotorua this morning, we visit the Agrodome, New Zealand’s unique performing sheep show. Then we take you to Te Puia, home of the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and the Thermal Reserve, would famous for its mud pools and spouting geysers. After lunch we will drive you back to Auckland.

Day 8: Auckland – Paihia (B,L,D)

This morning, we will drive you over the Harbour Bridge and past and glorious beaches of the Hibiscus Coast, into the ancient native forests of Northland. A stop in Whangarei. After lunch we visit the Waitangi Treaty Gounds, see where the Maori chiefs and British Crown signed the controversial agreement that created the new nation in 1840.
Stay in Copthorne Hotel Bay of Islands or similar.

 

Day 9: Paihia – Cape Reinga via 90 Mile Beach (B,L,D)

We will be on a sit-in coach and visit New Zealand’s top of the land – Cape Reinga. At Cape Reinga (Te Rerenga Wairau) wander out to the lighthouse, enjoy the spectacular views where the two oceans meet and hear the story of this deeply spiritual place. There are numerous stops for you to take in the scenic highlights and activities – starting with the easy twenty minute boardwalk through the mighty Kauri trees of the Puketi Forest. Return to Paihia this late afternoon.

 

Day 10: Paihia – Hole in the Rock Cruise – Auckland (B,L,D)

A fantastic cruise this morning through game fishing waters to Cape Brett Lighthouse, Motukokala Island and Grand Cathedral Cave, and passing through the Hole in the Rock. Dolphins , whales, seals and many birds are often seen in these waters, and a stop is made at Urupukapuka Island for walking or swimming or simply relax. This afternoon we will drive you back to Auckland.

 

Day 11 Auckland –Departure (B)

Transfer you to the airport for your onward flight leaving New Zealand.
